Challenge:

Our client grappled with integrating four environmental services businesses it acquired in central California. Obsolete assets, outdated processes and systems, and staff turnover compromised execution resulting in customer attrition.

Action:

Cambium Strategy® supplied interim COO services to the client, who supervised the stabilization and upgrade of the client’s CA operations and provided project management oversight to capacity expansion and efficiency improvement projects at the company’s biofuel production facility.

Results:

  • 21% increase in biodiesel production in two years within same footprint with a road map in place for adding an additional 25% within 18 months.

  • Avoidance of $115,000+ in annual transportation cost savings (stem mile reduction) through creation of a satellite parking facility.

  • Turnover of service technicians declined from 70%(annualized basis) in Q3 2016 to 0% in Q3 2018.

  • Successful integration of two additional tuck-in acquisitions with no disruption to existing customers.

  • A west coast feedstock origination platform that has positioned the company to profit from the upsurge in f renewable diesel production in the USA.

“When we irresponsibly exploit the Earth, disease, famine and ecological collapse result… But if we act as a responsible species, nature will not evict us.”
